BBE PTO MEETING Minutes

October 8, 2025 - 5:30 PM

September Cane’s Spirit night is still waiting on the check for final numbers. Space cowboys made $85. October’s IdeaLab will be cancelled due to low enrollment.

1. Hospitality - plans for the year

Candy Apple Bar is coming up for teachers. 

1. Membership - any update

Our popsicle contest did bring in 54 students and 2 additional staff members. 

4 classes earned popsicles parties at recess. 

1. Sponsorship - any update

Since September we’ve signed on 2 more business sponsors. The Russian School of Math has also paid to have a table at Fall Festival. Erin will be following up with Nothing Bundt Cakes about a Fall festival donation. 

1. Ways & Means - fall festival update

Fall Festival Update: Silent auction is almost ready to go. Fliers were delivered to teachers for this week’s Friday folders. Posts have been made on social media.

2. Yearbook - upcoming help needs

We have been getting lots of picture submissions. Nicole will meet with them after the fall festival to start laying out yearbook pages. 

1. JA - start date, status of volunteers

The signup genius will hopefully be ready this evening. Nicole can pin the post to the top of the facebook group to help encourage signups. 

1. MPA - start date, status of volunteers

All teachers have volunteers except for 2 classes. 2 lessons have started that we know of. 

1. Principal’s Remarks

1. We have 2 new hires: 2nd grade and 4th grade teachers. 
2. Students have started going on field trips. One trip coming up will have students on a charter bus. Dr. Bolden’s next email should have more details for the upcoming field trips. 
3. We need to be asking our students daily what they are writing about to help support our teachers. We want to be consistent and effective across the board. 
4. Boundaries & zoning planning: watch the upcoming board/community meetings. Brazos Bend may be impacted, and we won’t likely know until March. Dr. Bolden will send an email with more information about the meetings so that we can attend.
